Design of frame of recumbent bicycle
Gayer, Tomáš ; Maňas, Pavel (referee) ; Vrbka, Martin (advisor)
The aim of this diploma thesis is evolution of the new model of tricycle. This thesis describes process of engineering from design of several parts and whole frame in CAD system Autodesk Inventor, to creating complete drawing documentation. Next part of this thesis is focused on basic static-structural analysis using finite element method in software ANSYS Workbench and determining boundary conditions for this analysis. The final part is about visualization of the new tricycle.
Deformation, stress and safety analysis of the recumbend frame.
Verner, Jan ; Majer, Zdeněk (referee) ; Vrbka, Jan (advisor)
This work contains deformation, stress and safety analysis of recumbent bike frame from company AZUB. After introduction about history, definition of beam and beam assumptions, computational model of the frame was made fallowed the main solution. Three load states was checked - stillnes / uniform ride, deceleration and pedalling. The third one was subjected to deeper analysis. Bending problem in defined location was solved for all states. Inner stress resultans was solved as Von Misses stress, and the safet y was calculated. The fist state was compared with FEM. A program in MATLAB was made, enabeling calculation of user- selected frame geometry and loading.
Analysis of Customer Satisfaction and Suggested Measures for its Improvement
Bičan, Jan ; Hebeda, Petr (referee) ; Chalupský, Vladimír (advisor)
This thesis concerns the analysis of customer satisfaction. Specifically, the customer satisfaction of AZUB bike company with recumbents. At the same time based on the observed data for the determinativ of proposals to increase customer satisfaction.
Stress, deformation and strength analysis of the frontal recumbend axle
Valenda, Jakub ; Gayer, Tomáš (referee) ; Vrbka, Jan (advisor)
The bachelor’s thesis is focused on evaluation of tenseness and safety of a recumbert bike's front axle using method of basic elasticity. Calculation is limited to three options that differ in manner of frame's load. Used model of the axle is beam with two straight and one curved part. A bend and twist are considered as dominant stress. In conclusion there is for each load status evaluated the progress of tension on a beam's length, safety in critical point and deformation in point of power effect on axle. In my bachelor thesis there was used Matlab software for analytic calculation. Ancillary drawings were created in AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor.
Design of recumbent bike
Sazima, Ondřej ; Lehocký, Peter (referee) ; Zvonek, Miroslav (advisor)
The subjekt of this thesis is design of recumbent bicycle. Recumbent bicycle is designed as tricycle with partially open fairing. Main aim was to design a functional and timeless design using modern technologies. Recumbent tricycle was designed with the fairing and tilting mechanism to easily corner, with innovative solution of turning which makes easier to mount and dismount recumbent tricycle. The work was solved by design, technical and ergonomic side also includes other aspects of the design.
Stress, deformation and safety analysis of the recumbent bicycle frontal composite axle
Ondrejka, Jan ; Majer, Zdeněk (referee) ; Vrbka, Jan (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with creation of computational model of AZUB recumbent tricycle composite axle for stress strain analysis. The thesis consists of four main parts. The first part contains introduction to the offer of full suspended tricycles from the most known manufacturers. Furthermore it contains introduction to composite materials that makes the main element of AZUB´´s suspension, and the description of the AZUB´´s front axle. In the second part there is detailed compilation of computational model for purpose of stress strain analysis of three load states. The effect of specific material and geometry parameters on axle behavior is discussed with the aim of choosing the most appropriate variant. Third part deals with the manufacturing of the front axle prototype and with tests leading to input data for numerical model and verification of computational model. Modifications and changes that lead to manufacturing of the second prototype are content of the last part. Based on this experience some recommendations for future development of the numerical axle model and the front axle suspension itself are formulated.
HPV
Šmak, Petr ; Kloss, Ondřej (referee) ; Kaplan, Zdeněk (advisor)
Design of frame of a human powered vehicle (HPV) is the aim of this diploma thesis. Wide analysis precedes design process. The thesis describes historical developement of land transportation, especially history of cycling, bicycles and other human povered vehicles, which are not so extended. Preferences and deficiencies of transportation by these ecological vehicles are shown. The thesis includes summary of most widespread and best-known conceptions, including their advantages and disadvanteges. Conception of three-wheeled vehicle was selected. It has two steered front wheels and one powered rear wheel. The accent is putted on wide efficiency, ergonomics, simplicity of vehicle`s frame and possibility of using common cycling components. 3D model of frame and assembly of vehicle was created. This model was checked by FEM computation.
The Recumbent bike as a phenomenon in the world
Müller, Martin ; Šafránek, Jiří (advisor) ; Brtník, Tomáš (referee)
Title: The Recumbent bicycle as a World Phenomenon. Objectives: The main goal of this thesis is to map the situation of recumbent bicycles abroad and then to compare it with the situation in the Czech Republic. Furthermore, the key differences are discussed. Methods: The thesis uses the method of quantitative data collection. The collection of data was done primarily and through half-structured questionnaires. In addition, the method of interview was applied as a supportive one. The Results: According to a qualified estimate there are about 550 - 600 thousand of recumbent cyclists. The biggest differences of both groups lie in the following aspects. Cyclists abroad possess of 21,7 % of recumbent bicycles of their own construction less (2,5 %) than the Czech cyclists do. 70 % of foreign cyclists ride their recumbent bicycles from 2 to 3 times per week or every day, the Czechs like these are of 36,4 %. 59,5 % of foreign cyclists state as a reason to ride their recumbent the health prevention. The Czechs do that only in 33,3 %. Conclusion: The research shows interesting connections between the Czech and the foreign cyclists of recumbent bicycles and, at the same time, some differences. The most interesting is the perception of the recumbent bicycle as a mean to strengthen one's health. The future...
The Recumbent bike as a phenomenon of cycling
Müller, Martin ; Šafránek, Jiří (advisor) ; Brtník, Tomáš (referee)
Title: The Recumbent bike as a phenomenon of cycling. Objectives: This bachelor's thesis mainly focuses on an exploration of the history of recumbent cycling as a phenomenon in the Czech Republic. Methods: Quantitative data acquisition. The Results: According to qualified estimation, there are about 500 - 600 people who actively ride the recumbent bike in the Czech Republic. During a meeting, 66 participants filled our questionnaire. This number of participants corresponded to 60% of all participants. I concluded that most of the recumbent bikers are men aged 51 to 55. They prefer short wheelbase construction with an upper type of steering handlebars, rear wheel drive, and higher seating. They have 3 to 5 years of riding experience. They are mostly lone riders and They ride their bike once a week. They are attending recumbent bike meetings periodically and are not active recumbent bike racers. Not a single respondent is experiencing any health issues related to recumbent cycling. A few of them are using the recumbent bike as a compensatory exercise. The respondents have no trouble riding in traffic. To them, the most noticeable advantage is the ability to sit comfortably in comparison to conventional bicycles. As disadvantages, They have mentioned experiencing more difficulties in ascenting,...
